Norwegian postcard 1890's

1. Traditional Sunday dress worn in Setesdal. Pinafore in black woolen cloth with shoulder straps and hemstitched in colorful wool embroidery, worn over long-sleeved Blouse. Hat made of silk and ribbon over a wire frame.

2. + 3. Hardanger Headdress. Large square of folded white linen fastened in back.

4. Men's festival Setesdal costume. Heavy black woolen cloth overall embroidered in red and green, with some silver accents, lace - edged collar.

5. Hardanger Bride. Scarlet velvet corselet embroidered with beads white and silver. Belt and red wool lappets are encrusted with silver. Tiara of silk and flowers.

6. Hardanger Groom. Black velvet habit with a red waistcoat with silver buttons and green yarn. A silver brooch is on the collar. Black with white woolen hose and garters, black leather shoes, silver buckles.

7. Telemark costume. Skirt, red and green, circular bands in illusion of divided skirt. Lingerie blouse, with red fringed woolen sash and black boots, leather.

8. Hardanger children's bonnet. Beadwork, embroidered of red or woolen cloth.
